縄のれん
Nawanoren is an izakaya in Nogata, Nakano Ward, with a wide-ranging menu that runs from drinking snacks such as deep-fried burdock and German-style potatoes to soy milk tantan noodles, other noodle dishes and rice plates. The cosy restaurant is centred on counter seating.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Nawanoren calls itself an izakaya, but its freewheeling menu also has plenty to make a full meal of. The list of drinking snacks includes deep-fried burdock, German-style potatoes and an assortment of delicacies—good choices for a night when you want something to nibble on. There is also a broad selection of main dishes, from soy milk tantan noodles, ramen and soba to Neapolitan-style spaghetti, chicken and egg rice bowls and yakisoba. There is plenty to choose from even if you come for dinner rather than drinks.
The compact interior is centred on counter seating, with an easygoing atmosphere that makes it comfortable to settle in alone. The friendly owner adds to the homely feel, and the setting is well suited to taking your time over a beer or another alcoholic drink.
The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 18:00 until 3:00 the following day; it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Late-night dinners and drinks are an option. Seating is limited, so it is best suited to small groups. Payment is cash only.
